Northeast Heat News

Congratulations to Drake Christen for being named first team Regional Academic All American. Drake played quarterback for the Heat the last two seasons and in addition to on field excellence, was instrumental in not only leading his team, but the program. This achievement is based on success in the classroom, on the field and in the community. Drake will be awarded this honor at a banquet near Chicago on March 7th. He is now eligible for a National Academic All American award which would recognize him as amongst the top 1% of all Pop Warner participants and qualify him for a national Pop Warner scholarship.

Northeast Heat open the season convincingly!
Hard work pays off and the Northeast Heat demonstrated that by sweeping the Warren Cobras in 4 divisions on opening season Saturday. The Heat would like to thank the Warren Cobras for hosting a great day of football and showcasing the Pop Warner experience to Central Indiana!

Northeast Heat host South Lake Red Devils
The Northeast Heat hosted the South Lake Red Devils from Lowell, IN and got a taste of Pop Warner tradition from a well established program. Game one featured the South Lake Jr Pee Wees versus the Northeast Heat Jr Pee Wees. Both teams opened the season with very convincing wins but learned quickly it was not last week. After many big plays on both sides and for both teams, they ended in a tie. Game two featured the South Lake Red Devil's Pee Wee team versus the Warren Cobra's Pee Wee team. South Lake started off fast but Warren mounted a 2nd half comeback only to fall by a few points. The Heat would like to thank all the players, coaches and parents who made the trip from Lowell from both teams. South Lake is truly a first class program and that was demonstrated by all the Red Devil players, coaches and parents!!

The Northeast Heat Pee Wee's also would like to thank the Northwest Blaze for hosting them on Saturday where the Heat continued to show that they are an improving team with another victory.
